We often have extra pallets floating around the warehouse that we don’t need. Recently, someone asked me if they could have some of our stacked pallets. I asked what they were going to do with them, and loved the answer. Make garden furniture!
So, inspired by the idea, I started googling to see what ideas are out there for repurposing pallets. There are heaps of great ideas! Here’s a few that I loved:
I love this Pallet Patio Furniture from Place of My Taste. It looks great, and it looks pretty simple, too. I reckon even I could manage to make these!
This great Pallet Patio Day Bed by Lovely Greens looks easy to make, too. And the article has some really useful information on what to look for when you’re finding pallets. Some pallets are sprayed with toxic chemicals, so check this article out and learn what to avoid!
Rustic chic! Doesn’t this Pallet Wood Chair by Funky Junk Interiors look great? And it’s pretty much two pallets leaned together with some posts for arms. Can’t get much simpler than that!
Who wouldn’t want a bar on their patio? Especially a cool, cheap as chips one like this from A Mitten Full of Savings. And of course, it’s eco friendly, because you’re saving the pallets from having to be put into landfill. I’ll drink to that!
It’s not all about furniture, either. This Pallet Wall by Project Nursery looks fantastic, if a little time consuming. 17 pallets pulled apart, stripped and sanded!
The Pallet Swing Bed by The Merry Thought looks dreamy. I love the idea. I’m just not sure that it’s practical at my place – I’d be worried about the ropes (not to mention the birds in the trees above!).
This combination by A Piece of Rainbow looks more like something my carpenter brother would make. If you’re handy, it might be one for you. If you’re more of a slapdash DIY-er like me, perhaps we should move on. Looks great, though!
Much more my speed. The Timber Pallet Chillout Lounge is very straightforward, and it looks great! It would be perfect for a kids’ rumpus room, too.
A pallet wine rack! Now you’re talking. Hang this above your pallet bar and it’s your place for drinks tonight!
Pallets are perfect for the garden, and this Potting Bench is such a handy idea for a gardener.
I am in love with this Pallet Day Bed! Of course, at my place, the dog would end up sleeping on it! The wheels are a great idea, so you can move it around easily. And what a great use for a mattress that you no longer need in the house.
More great gardening ideas with this Wood Pallet Garden Frame. This would be especially good if you’re in a rental property and don’t want to dig the garden up to grow veggies. Or perhaps it could be an easy gardening project for kids at school?
Another great idea for kids – a Strawberry Pallet Planter. It’s an easy way to grow strawberries at home, and what kid doesn’t love to pick and eat fresh strawberries?
Here’s a great pallet vertical garden for small spaces. This is another simple project, and it looks great, too!
This Pallet Balcony Garden is similar to the vertical pallet garden, but there are great, detailed instructions, so I’ve included it, too. I just love the combination of plants in this one!
Have you tried repurposing pallets? What did you make?
